BIOGRAPHY
Ximena Jimenez is a licensed and registered dietitian. She is currently a National Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Past Legislative Chairperson of the Miami Dietetic Association and Florida Dietetic Association Public Relations Team member. Ximena holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, and a Master’s Degree in Communications from Florida International University .
For years, Ximena have been providing individual and group nutrition counseling. She is passionate about helping children and adults implement healthy habits to improve their lives. Ximena is an experienced and energetic speaker; she speaks on topics including Mindful Eating, Managing Stress through Diet, and Eating on the Run, Mediterranean Diet, and 10 Healthy Foods to Successful Weight Loss. She provides consultation to Preschool Programs and is a Certified Serve Safe instructor and teaches food safety. As a consultant, she has worked with various organizations such as: United Way, AHEC, FDA, Sysco, Family Christian Association of America, Favorite Staffing, Humana Healthcare, Paradise Christian School , BTG pharmaceuticals, Vista Healthcare and SMH Diabetes Care Center .
Ximena has appeared as a guest expert on local, national and international shows, including Telemundo, Univision, AmericaTeve, Caracol, Univision Radio, Radio Fiesta and WLRN. She has been quoted on print publications that include Miami Herald, el Nuevo Herald, Orlando Sentinel, Chicago Tribune, Parents, People and Fitness Magazine. She contributes on the medical websites VideoMD and Sharecare.com. She also serves as the nutrition expert in the national radio program “Salud y Familia with Dr. Huerta” and National television show “Levantate” from Telemundo
Nutrition is her passion but so is family and friends. Ximena has her immediate family in Colombia and she makes sure to visit them frequently. She enjoys cooking and trying new recipes to share with friends and family. She loves to exercise especially running, biking and canoeing
